U. I. F. Contribution

U.I.F. Contributions are made both by the employer and employee. The employer will deduct 1% from an employee’s total earnings, the employer is also required to contribute 1% of their employee’s total earnings. The employer will contribute U.I.F. for each employee that is employed. Therefore, the total contribution paid to U.I.F. for each employee is 2%.

How do I register for U.I.F.?

  1. You are required to complete an online application and make the required payment fee.
  2. We will collect all of your required documents from you and submit them to U.I.F.
  3. Once your U.I.F. number is available we will send it to you.
  4. Dear Client, do not forget to deduct U.I.F. contributions of 1% of their salary from your employees and match their contributions every month.

How is the U.I.F. contribution value determined?

Your employer will calculate 1% of your basic salary which will be contributed to your U.I.F. In addition, your employer will contribute 1% of your basic salary which will then be contributed to your U.I.F. However, your commission earned (if applicable) will not be considered.

When should I claim U.I.F.?

Ideally, you should apply for U.I.F. benefits as soon as you become unemployed or within 6 months of your employment termination, since it may take some time for your claim to be processed.
